History
Hamilton, Michaelson & Hilty, LLP was formed in 1985 by Carl D. Hamilton, Terry Michaelson and Mark Clark. These three attorneys constructed the building that continues to house the primary, or “Civil,” office in Nampa. In 1989, Stephen W. Drescher became a partner in the firm. Mr. Clark left the practice of law in 1991 and opened a small business in Nampa. In 1995, Mr. Drescher was elected District Judge for the Third Judicial District, Washington County, and left the firm to take office. Mark Hilty was hired as an associate in 1995, and became partner in 1997. The firm name was changed to Hamilton, Michaelson & Hilty, LLP. Ron Shepherd was hired as a prosecutor in the Caldwell office in 2002, and became partner in January of 2008.
Civil Office
The civil office houses six attorneys, including the four partners. In this office we offer a wide variety of practice areas, including (but not limited to): family law, estate planning, real estate, municipal law, probate, corporate and business law, general litigation, personal injury, construction disputes, guardianship, conservatorship and collections. Our attorneys' expertise and positive reputation are well known throughout Canyon County.
Caldwell Prosecution Office
Our firm has held the misdemeanor prosecution contract for the City of Caldwell since 1998. It is currently housed in the Caldwell Police Department. Over the years we have added Middleton prosecution to this office. This office is made up of two attorneys, a legal assistant, a file clerk and a Victim Witness Coordinator. This office is headed by Mandy Hessing, the lead prosecuting attorney.
